Implant Retained Dentures
First of all, nobody gets implants, tooth for tooth, replacing all teeth in a jaw, individually.
All implant-retained dentures are a form of fixed or removable “bridges” that replace not only the teeth, but the missing jawbone and gums as well, often with a metal chassis for additional strength.
They will feel like a complete dentures with the palate removed, not real teeth, singly emerging out of your gums, a common misapprehension regarding implants.
Often lowers, not attached by implants, will “fit” if just sitting there, but in use, will move around and hurt-- a good candidate for two in-the-bone implants.
Various solutions involving two or more implanted Titanium implants can connect a denture comfortably and securely to a worn down jaw bone, by screws if “fixed,” or by clips if “removable.”
All-on-4® is a variety of bridging uppers or lowers using four implants. A very popular restoration for troublesome upper jaws, leaving the palate open for eating pleasure.
It's easier than you think, no matter what your age.
“Why didn't I do this sooner?”
